Baking Powder is a combination of both Baking Soda and acid also and required a liquid to become activated. Baking Powder is an enhanced version of Baking Soda because it consists of both the base and the acid. Baking Powder is a leavening agent that is added to the batter before cooking to make the batter rise well to form a nice baked product.

Baking Powder comes included with three common ingredients in household kitchens, They are Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate), Some kind of Starch (Usually Corn Starch) and an Acidifying agent.
