Clock wise vs anti-clock wise

Difference Between Clockwise and Anti-clockwise

Clockwise and Anti-clockwise are terms that can only be applied to a rotational motion. Clockwise motion proceeds in the same direction as that of a clock’s hands. Moving from the top to the right, then down and then to the left, and back up to the top. Anticlockwise can be considered as the opposite sense of rotation or revolution.

What is clockwise?

When something moves in a clockwise direction, it is moving in the same direction as the hands on the clock.

What is Anti-clockwise?

When something moves in an anti-clockwise direction, it is moving in the opposite direction.

The differences Between Clockwise and Anti-clockwise are:

CLOCKWISE ANTI-CLOCKWISE
MEANING
Clockwise as the name suggests, is the motion that proceeds exactly like a clock’s hands. On The other hand, Anti-clockwise is the stark opposite of clockwise rotation.
DIRECTION
Clockwise direction is from left to right, The anti-clockwise direction is from right to left.
EXAMPLES
Venus and Uranus are the only two planets that revolve around the sun clockwise. The remaining all planets follow an Anti-clockwise direction. Also, Earth’s rotation is also anticlockwise in nature.
SYNONYMS
‘Clockwise’ has no synonyms ‘Anti-clockwise’ is also called ‘counter clockwise’.

Conclusion:

Now we can clearly understand the difference between Clockwise and Anti-clockwise. While Clockwise means movement in a rotary motion like any clockwork i.e. from left to right and anti-clockwise, the direction is in the exact opposite direction of the clockwise rotation i.e. from right to left.
